Driver assistance systems: Many people have heard the term before – either on the radio, in a TV advert, or at a car dealership. But what do they actually do and why should every vehicle have them? Do the driving profile test and find out which driver assistance system best suits you and why "intelligent" cars get you to your destination better.
The German Road Safety Council e.V. (DVR) together with their partners Bosch, Continental, Dekra, GTÜ, Hella and Valeo presents this free app about driver assistance systems to explain their mode of actions and to give assistance when purchasing a new vehicle.
Driver assistance systems support the driver once distracted, they help the driver change lanes safely, alert when it’s time to take a break or automatically adjust the speed of the vehicle to match the flow of traffic. They help the driver to reach his destination safer and more comfortable and to avoid traffic accidents.
